Day one

 

Arrival and welcome
Afternoon check in at  our Hotel tour briefing followed by tropical cocktails and dinner

Day Two

After Breakfast 

Guided tour of the local Fish Market at Oistin’s
Lunch and Shopping on your own or return to the hotel for a light lunch.
Afternoon cooking lesson.
Relaxation and pool side cocktails
Oistin’s Friday night Fish Fry dinner at a local Restaurant

Day Three

 

After breakfast we will visit and tour the Local Farmers Market and Local Barbados rum distillery later we will shop for  local arts and craft and savvy shopping in Bridgetown tax free shops. Where you would find trendy boutiques offering world renowned designer labels.
Return to the Hotel for lunch and afternoon cooking lesson hosted by a local island chef

Using the ingredients we purchased at the farmers market and rum distillery. Dinner we head to “The Crane Restaurant” Barbados # 1 for food Zagat 2009 .

Day Four

 

After breakfast we will join in the Barbados Crop- over festival, Where each year on the last Monday in August, a quarter- million Bajans celebrate the close of the five week Crop Over festival which is like a Caribbean Madi Gras, New Years Eve and Halloween rolled together with Caribbean song, dance and party.. This is  being an all day event, we can stop later for a relaxing swim and light dinner at one of the local restaurant stops.

Day Five:

After breakfast, its time to tour the  Barbados Museum Where the History of Barbados comes to life. The  Museum is set in a beautiful nineteenth century buildings where the island rich heritage and culture are depicted through exhibitions of natural history. ’ Afternoon we will head out on our Island Safari and beach hopping tour. Our guide will take us off the beaten tracks to some of the most spectacular local sites and beaches on the island. We will stop for a light lunch. Dinner Cooking class hosted by Tour host Chef Freda.

Day Six

 

After breakfast you will enjoy a luxury Catamaran  boat cruise, enjoy the view of the Caribbean marine life through this wonderful cruise
Lunch, Drinks and Snorkeling equipment will be provided on this cruise. Afternoon spa treatments at Chakra Spa, enjoy a time of relaxation and rewinding . Dinner will be hosted by the Sandpiper Restaurant in St James featuring Fresh Eclectic cuisine with a Caribbean twist.

Day Seven:

Farewell  Breakfast,  After Bus will take you back to the airport or depending on your flight schedule shopping on your own or some last minute beach time.

Witness Barbados at it’s best. Barbados Food Wine & Rum Schedule and Itinerary

Friday  Depending on your flight schedule you will be picked up from the airport and dropped off at the Pomme Marine hotel where we will be staying.

We will meet for breakfast and tour briefing, this will be followed by a trip by bus to the Food and rum festival venue (Still awaiting food and /rum festival schedule)

We will later Tour the Ositin’s Fish market and Enjoy local fish at it’s best at the Oistin’s Friday night fish fry. We will head back to our hotel and prepare for our next day event.

Saturday We will head for an early morning tour of the local farmers market the Bridgetown market, where you will get to witness the center hub of the island local farmers, huskers, and food vendors, You will get to see and learn about the island culinary heritage through its local fruits, vegetables, spices, and herbs,

After our excursion we will stop for a local breakfast at one of the local Island Restaurant We will later enjoy some local shopping in Bridgetown. We will head back to the Food and Rum Festival to enjoy the days activities. Back at the hotel where you will enjoy a cooking class hosted by a local chef using some of the ingredients we bought at the market. Dinner will be served featuring the dishes prepared

 

Sunday : All day excursions we will head back to the Food Wine & Rum festival. Our day will climax with a Local catamaran dinner cruise. There will be time for last minute shopping or doing something on your own.

Monday: Be pampered with our relaxing morning Beach Spa treatments depending on your flight schedule. Good bye and farewells, bus will transfer you to the airport.

Day Six: After breakfast, its time for shopping which will include a trip to the local farmer market, back to the villa for lunch and afternoon cooking lessons using fresh seasonal ingredients found at the market combined with local Island liquors found at the distillery.

The Barbados story: Barbados is Situated outside the main arc of the caribbean Island

The Island was claimed by the British crown in 1625.And is now an independant state. The Island has a population 2,57.082 who mostly lives in the Island Captial Bridgetown. Barbados is famous for its great beaches, rolling hills, fine cuisine, and friendly people.

Barbados culinary delights

Barbados is famous for its flying fish( hirundicty affins) A glistering silver like fish that glides out of the sea swells with outstretched wings, in the awaiting nets of the local fishermen.

Flying fish is prepared in various ways from flying fish pate, to fried flying fish served with bajan coo coo a cornmeal and okra mixture a native staple of Barbados and some of the other Islands.

Island food culture:

The Caribbean food’s shows the personality of the regions itself bringing together the indigenous taste of the islands early inhabitants the Carib and the Arawaks Indians. Blended with the African flavors introduced by the early slaves and European colonial influences. Blessed with an abundance of seafood,spices, vegetables, and tropical fruits all combined together creating dining delights
